The Dominican meringue is again crossing borders thanks to Hypers Kids Africa. This time, the group of young dancers shared a choreography of «Moving the hip,» popularized by the meringero Toño Rosario.
In the audiovisual, the members of the collective show their steps to the rhythm of the theme, in a new publication with which Dominican music is brought to their followers in different parts of the world.
The performance is in addition to other choreographies that Hypers Kids Africa, also known as Hypers Born Talented, has performed during 2026 with songs by Dominican artists of different genres.
In April, the group danced «El Mñognón,» a piece of meringue typical of Robert Vargas. In May, he chose «De otra Planeta 2026,» from the urban meringüero Kalimete, and continued with his Dominican repertoire in June, when he published choreographies of «Abusadora,» by Chimbala, and «Mi Patron,» collaboration of El Alfa, Maceo and El Perro Blanco.
In some of these publications, the dancers incorporated visual elements related to the three-color flag, as a way to accompany their interpretations with references to the Dominican Republic.
The music of Juan Luis Guerra was also part of this connection. In August, Hypers Kids Africa danced «Mambo 23,» a choreography that came to the artist himself, who shared the audiovisual on his social networks.
Later, in September, the collective published an interpretation of «Che Che,» by Chimbala, and again included Dominican references in the content.
With «Moving the hip,» by Toño Rosario, the young people expand a musical selection that includes typical meringue, meringue street and dembow, while Dominican songs continue to find space in choreographies that circulate on digital platforms.
