Naruto's followers have two reasons to celebrate: the franchise will have a new series of anime and Masashi Kishimoto will launch an unpublished manga entitled Shadow Rising. Both projects were announced during a panel dedicated to the saga in the New York Comic Con 2026, where new developments on real action film adaptation were also shared.
The next animated series will be named NARUTOxNINKÄ and will bring together the universe created by Kishimoto with the popular Ninkħmanga. The project will be supervised by both authors: Kishimoto and Koji Kiriyama, the creator of the second franchise.
According to the official description, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura will be given a mission from Kakashi. As your teacher will not be able to accompany you, Naruto will be appointed as the interim leader of Team 7 and will enthusiastically assume the responsibility to complete the assignment.
However, the tour will take an unexpected course when the three ninjas end up lost in an unknown world. There you will meet Fūsuke, a mysterious child whose face reminisces to that of a frog, and you will have to find out what awaits you in that strange place.
New Naruto sleeve
At the moment, no opening date has been announced for the series. The announcement was accompanied by a breakthrough presented during the New York event.
The other great surprise was the presentation of Shadow Rising, a new manga related to Naruto's franchise. His existence was revealed at the close of the panel by means of a promotional video, but no details of his history, characters or date of publication were yet made available; that is, they let us see that he will be set after the end of the Fourth Ninja War and before the events of Boruto.
The announcement's leaders advanced that they will share more information during Jump Festa 2027, which will be held in December.
