A traffic accident in the Northeast Highway, involving a car, a truck and a unit of the General Directorate of Transit Security and Ground Transport (Digesett), resulted in two people being injured, including an agent of the institution.
According to information obtained at the site of the event, the car driver, identified as Janser Cruz Rodríguez, from Nagua, allegedly lost control of the vehicle and impacted a rail of the track. He then collided with a unit of the Dangesett that was parked and, finally, collided with a heavy vehicle.
As a result of the accident, Cruz Rodríguez was injured, while a Digesett agent suffered a head blow, apparently of a mild character.
The driver was assisted by a unit of the National Emergency and Security System 9-1-1 and transferred to a health centre for medical care.
To date, no details have been provided on the health status of the driver and the identity of the agent concerned.
The circumstances in which the accident occurred must be clarified by the relevant authorities.
