Jonathan Lipnicki, remembered for playing little George Little in Stuart Little and for his participation in Jerry Maguire, is ready to show a very different facet of his career. The actor appears completely naked in a scene of Primetime, the new thriller starring Robert Pattinson, in which he had to face one of the most uncomfortable interpretative challenges of his career.
At 35, Lipnicki left behind the image of the child of the round glasses that he conquered the public in the films of the late 1990s. On this occasion, he plays a man identified on the Internet as Crazyfrog73, who is discovered naked while trying to take advantage of a minor.
The film is inspired by an article by Esquire written by Luke Dittrich on the stage of Chris Hansen at the head of To Catch a Predator, the controversial documentary program that exposed alleged sexual predators. In Primetime, Pattinson plays Hansen, who confronts the suspects, including the Lipnicki character.
An Actoral Challenge
Although the nude scenes are part of the cinema, Lipnicki recognized that this case was especially difficult by the nature of the character. It was not a conventional intimate scene, but rather a completely naked sexual predator, a combination that caused anxiety before accepting the role.
In statements to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor explained that dark material can represent an opportunity to test its interpretative capabilities, but also forces to question itself to where it is willing to reach as an artist.
“As actors, we pray for dark material and for things in which we can really swollen his tooth,” he said. He had to ask himself, as he explained, whether he was as brave as he said he was and finally decided to take on the challenge.
