Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already available in digital format and, in addition to allowing you to reenjoy the film, its release includes additional material that shows how much history changed during the editing process. Among the news is a gag reel and several scenes removed that might be particularly interesting to Peter Parker's followers.
The material behind the cameras includes moments when Tom Holland and his cast partners break character, errors during the shooting and comic situations starring the cast. More content related to Peter Parker and Yelena Belova also appears, including additional material from the controversial scene in the bathtub.
However, the most striking of these are the sequences that were left outside the film assembly. One of the unpublished scenes shows Frank Castle, played by Jon Bernthal, moving a seriously wounded Spider- Man to a hospital. The sequence continues with medical staff serving Peter and cutting parts of his suit so he can treat his wounds.
Cameo de Claire Temple
The new material also helps explain an image that had previously appeared in some of the film's ads, but which was not finally seen in the cinemas: Peter getting an injection while he is hospitalized.
This seems to indicate that the character's recovery originally had much more weight within the film. You can even see that doctors manipulate your suit while trying to save it, which opens the door to a considerably larger sequence than it ended up reaching the final assembly.
The material has generated speculations among fans about other scenes that could be part of that extended version. Among them is a possible appearance of Claire Temple, a character played by Rosario Dawson, whose participation had generated expectations.
