The National District Senator, Omar Fernández, clarified on Saturday that the hospitalization he received recently was a result of a gastroenteritis caused by a bacteria and not of physical exhaustion, as had been said after his health status.
The People's Force legislator offered these statements in a video published on his social media, where he thanked the concerns received during the days he was under medical care.
“I am already quite well and with the same strength and spirit as ever, thank God,” said Fernandez, confirming that he is recovered and ready to resume his responsibilities.
The senator explained that he began to feel bad during the morning of Wednesday and that, although he initially thought it could be tiredness, he had fever and chills that night.
“My situation was not due to exhaustion or tiredness, but to a gastroenteritis product of a bacteria,” he said when referring to the diagnosis of his doctor, Fernando Contreras.
Fernández recognized that long working days can cause fatigue, but stressed the importance of taking care of the signs of the body and taking care of health when necessary.
“Being firm does not mean being untiring, it means recognizing that we are human, caring for ourselves when it is necessary and moving forward with the same commitment as ever,” he said.
The congressman concluded his message with a spirit about his return to the work: “Firms and the world, that there is still much to be done.”.
