Santo Doming.- The Embassy of Haiti in the Dominican Republic disconnected on Friday from the statements offered by some players of the Haitian national team after the football match held on Thursday in front of the Dominican Republic.
Through an official statement, the diplomatic delegation clarified that the expressions made by the athletes occurred “in the heat of competition and with the intensity of the sport emotion” and said that they do not represent the official position of the Embassy or the Haitian Government.

In the document, shared with this medium, the Haitian authorities reaffirmed their commitment to fully respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and institutions of the Dominican Republic.

The diplomatic representation also highlighted the historical, human and cultural links between Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
